10 Direct Support Professionals needed for Toomey Residential in Syracuse.

 -Training may be provided for this position.  Previous or related experience appreciated, but not necessary.

 -Most shifts are 2nd shift and will include some weekend hours.  Some schedules are 4 day/10 hour; some are 5 day/8hour shifts.  Positions are full time.

 Responsibilities:

 Direct Support Professional provides support and assistance to adolescents and adults with disabilities in areas of daily living, community involvement, and recreational activities. Serve as a positive role model for socially acceptable behavior. Assist with household duties and meal preparation. Some positions require staff to pass medications.

 Qualifications:

 A clean valid NYS drivers' license. Some positions require staff to use their own vehicle for work purposes. High School Diploma or GED required; Associates in Human Services preferred. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in other human service area or in a health care field most helpful. Will be required to successfully complete the OPWDD fingerprinting clearance; have good verbal & written skills; ability to attend training and pass the test to become med. certified, if required.

 All positions at Toomey Residential and Community Services are required to attend Virtus training within 60 days of hire and to successfully clear the Virtus background check. This position also requires an acceptable State child abuse clearance background check. EOE
